Description
This beer is named after the oriental-gothic style pagodas on the top of our office building on Albion Row, Byker. A stylised Japanese pagoda (a Geordie pagoda) as per those on the Ouseburn School building is shown on the bottle label and pump clip. The school was built in 1893 with, its rumoured, hefty donations from industrial giants, Armstrong and Vickers, who were trying to impress the Japanese Navy who visited Tyneside with a view to buying battleships with steam generators. We like to think we've continued the link between Newcastle and Japan by using Sorachi Ace hops in Geordie Pagoda.
