Introducing Wylam Brewery’s first ever brew…Landlord’s Choice. We have delved back through the archives to revisit Robin & John’s classic brew.

This traditional Golden Bitter, pays homage to the origins of this beer style and the ingredients involved.

This cask ale pours a vibrant gold in colour with the use of Simpsons finest Golden Promise malt, grown not far from us on the Scottish Borders. This heritage barley variety brings a beautiful mouthfeel that embodies a delicate balance between a light malty character and a hop bitterness that clings perfectly to the palate. With the use of classic English hop varieties Goldings and Fuggles. Grown on farms in the UK and supplied to us from the ever dependable Charles Faram’s. These bittering addition hops are then complemented with an addition of the German hop Herbrucker. That delivers a pleasant floral and spice aroma.

We felt it was only fitting to mark our 25th anniversary by starting with a beer true to our roots. With that in mind, this beer has to have it’s first pour back in the Boathouse, Wylam. Where it all began.
