Description
Bourbon barrel-aged chocolate stout with sour cherry We took our chocolate stout, a beer with rich roasted malt character and the bitter dark chocolate taste and aroma of cacao nibs, and then aged it for four months in bourbon barrels with sour cherries and an extra dose of 100% cocoa chocolate. The result is a complex marriage of flavours, with the sourness of the cherries cutting through the bitter edge of the dark chocolate, and the sweeter notes of toffee and vanilla from the bourbon barrel balancing out the roast malt undertones.
