Yeovil Ales
Somerset
The Yeovil Ales brewery was founded in 2005 by father and son, Dave and Rob Sherwood. Our range of handcrafted beers now stands at seven permanent real ales and a growing number of occasional and seasonal brews - including our YOLO (You Only Live Once) series of 10th anniversary beers and our 'Hop' experimental British hop development ranges. Our team's enthusiasm and passion for quality, service and developing innovative new brews, has led to a host of local and national awards.
Rob Sherwood started out home brewing at a young age and spent time developing recipes and brewing techniques that remain to this day the cornerstone of Yeovil Ales' contemporary late hopping style. When brewing very small batches of home brewed beer, Rob was only ever interested in creating the best possible tasting brews. This value, combined with the team's dedication to producing consistently high-quality beer, enables us to be 100% confident that the beer we supply to our customers is the very best.
Continuing our enthusiasm in producing new and interesting flavours, we are devote our time to the ever-evolving YOLO and Hop experimental development ranges. The aim of experimentation is of course to produce exciting new results in terms of flavours and aromas in the finished beer.
The YOLO series launched in 2015 to celebrate our 10th anniversary and the aim was to push the boundaries using some modern hop varieties from the US, Australia, New Zealand and of course, Great British hops. The name YOLO was decided on to depict the You Only Live Once theme (as in they were supposed to be one offs!). However, most brews proved so popular that they have been re-brewed or even renamed, including Fabarillo (originally YOLO#4), Redshift (originally YOLO#7) and Crown Imperial (originally YOLO#2).
We love experimental UK based Hop varieties and developing new and exciting beers in order to support British hop farmers - we are proud to support the Charles Faram breeding program. Each ‘Hop’ brew uses a unique 100% British hop plant - they are truly one of a kind!
