Ty Gwyn Cider

Ty Gwyn is the Welsh for 'white house', the name of the farm in the Monnow Valley near Monmouth where my stepfather, James McConnel, grew apples and began making delicious craft cider.

Back in the 90s, before I followed in my stepdad's cider-making footsteps, I was bass player in a band called Tiny Monroe. We recorded sessions for Radio 1, played at Glastonbury, and supported The Pretenders, Radiohead and Suede. Making great music or great cider takes passion, practice and patience, and Ty Gwyn ciders are the result of all three!
Our cider apples are delivered direct from our pick of the local growers and pressed here on our farm. We always use 100% juice and allow our ciders a long time to ferment and mature (a minimum of six months for our bottled ciders and even longer for our draught ciders).
The result is a world away from mass-produced commercial cider, and our growing popularity proves that people agree! We sell to some of the country's finest hospitality businesses including CAMRA award-winning pubs and Michelin-starred restaurants. Our customers also include Waitrose, who selected Ty Gwyn to be part of their local produce offering.
Try Ty Gwyn and enjoy cider made in tune with tradition!
