Housed in an Historic Naval Gunpowder Store, discovered by Co-Founder and CEO Andy Burdon, the name Powder Monkey relates to the boys who carried the gunpowder on board ships.
The brewery consists of a 25hl Brewhouse, with canning and kegging in house, the first beers were brewed on site in August 2022. Several of the beers are recipients of SIBA Regional awards, and Head Brewer Mark Hamblin was runner up in the Brewers Journal Young Brewer of the Year in 2022 and 2023
