Old Chimneys Brewery was started in 1995 by Alan Thomson, a Master Brewer with 42 years brewing experience. Old Chimneys' best known beer, Good King Henry Special Reserve, has been the highest rated English beer on ratebeer for 8 years.
Alan retired from full-time brewing in April 2019 to concentrate on collaborations with other top quality brewers in the UK and abroad. The regular version of Good King Henry, Alan's highly acclaimed Imperial Stout, is still brewed by Alan but at Grain Brewery, Alburgh in Norfolk at an increased ABV of 10.0%. For the first time in 20 years it is available in KeyKeg.
