Louis Moritz Trautmann, the company's founder, emigrated to Barcelona from Pfaffenhofen, Alsace France, in 1851. By 1856, he was brewing his own beer, and Moritz, the first beer of Barcelona was born.
Today Moritiz is still owned and run by Louis Moritz’s family, and the modern day Moritz brewery in Barcelona is not just a brewery, it is a whole universe of beer located in the heart of the Catalan capital.
