A small family firm based in Gloucestershire, we only used unsprayed fruit from gardens and traditional orchards from all over Gloucestershire to make small batches of fine, drinkable cider and perry ... and there's a reason for this: Unsprayed; because no spays or chemical intervention at all is best for our environment and for the birds, bees and bugs that live in or around fruit trees and orchards. Gardens; many (perhaps most) people who have fruit trees in their gardens do not or cannot use all the fruit, so we use it in return for free juice or cider. It's an environmentally sustainable way of using what is available locally. Traditional Orchards are havens of bio-diversity containing (literally) hundreds of species of flora and fauna (and they are generally pleasant places in which to spend time). Gloucestershire; it's our home county, so we use what's available locally to keep food miles as low as possible.
