Brixham Gin
Devon
We’re Brixham Gin, a family run seaside gin distillery. Founding Brixham Gin has been an amazing adventure so far, and we can’t wait for it to continue.
Gin has become a big industry in the past few years. We’ve loved trying all the different gins that have become available, but we soon realised that we knew what we wanted.
Naturally the conversation turned to how we’d make our ideal gin, and we’re delighted that that idea has developed into a business!
To create Brixham Gin we did a lot of research, went on courses and did some serious calculations to make sure it would all work. Thankfully it did, and we’re really proud of the end result.
Our hearts were always set on naming the company Brixham Gin, but for our first bottle we wanted something that would really reflect Brixham’s unique seafaring heritage.
Then, we looked out of the window of our distillery in the Old Sail Loft, and we saw one of the trawlers sail past. Its crimson sails blowing in the wind. Then it came to us; Red Sails Gin.
It was perfect; Brixham’s ships are known for being coated in red ochre to protect them from the weather. These iconic trawlers changed fishing forever and put Brixham on the map. This is our homage to them.
